Psychiatry and Substance Use
General Psychiatry
At Willow I treat depression and mood disorders, anxiety, panic and social anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, personality disorders, perceptual disturbances as in schizophrenia and schizoaffective disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and sleep disorders. You will be provided with an initial 60 minute psychiatric evaluation to discuss your symptoms and form a treatment plan which may include medications. You will then have follow-up medication management appointments to adjust medications and maintain stability. Care is always focused on women’s mental health needs and stage of life. Treatment is a partnership and we will walk the journey together.
Substance Use Treatment
Expert substance use treatment for women who need help for use of opioids, alcohol, stimulants like cocaine and amphetamines and nicotine in a discreet, caring, non-judgmental setting. I use a harm reduction approach which respects your autonomy as a person seeking recovery and stands against stigma. Harm reduction allows you to make choices about your treatment whether it’s reducing use, using safer substances in safer ways or total abstinence. You will set your recovery goals and I will provide the tools to achieve them. I am a buprenorphine provider which is a medication used for opioid use disorder. Buprenorphine is an opioid and includes Suboxone, Subutex and the injectables Sublocade and Brixadi. Buprenorphine is an excellent treatment choice for opioid dependence because it treats withdrawal and cravings so you don’t feel the need to use other opioids and is well tolerated. Buprenorphine is a prescription medication that you take at home for your convenience. I also provide Vivitrol, a non-opioid treatment for opioid addiction, as well as for alcohol addiction.
